West Kirby, U.K.- Head Roger Williams Sailing Coach Amanda Callahan and her teammates on the New York Yacht Club team Silver Panda took first place out of 32 teams at the British Open Team Racing Championships over the weekend.  It was the second straight victory for Silver Panda, having also claimed the coveted Wilson Trophy in 2007.

BRISTOL, R.I.- Freshman Claire Halliday (Trenton, N.J.) was named Roger Williams University Female Athlete of the Week after her outstanding play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Women’s Lacrosse Championship. Halliday established a new record for most points in a game with 11, Thursday, against Worcester State.

BRISTOL, R.I.- Freshman baseball player Zach Porter (Middleboro, Mass.) has been selected Roger Williams Male Athlete of the Week for his stellar play in the ECAC Division III New England Tournament.  Porter was named the team's Most Outstanding Player after the Hawks claimed the ECAC title in an 11-3 win over Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Sunday's championship game.
