BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Athletic Department would like to announce its Fall 2008 schedule for its Commonwealth Coast Conference-sponsored sports.

 

Men’s Soccer kicks off its 2008 campaign with the Roger Williams University Turfer Classic on Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31, featuring St. Joseph’s College (NY), Bridgewater State College, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The Hawks will host St. Joseph’s that Saturday at noon with Bridgewater State and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy squaring off later that day at 2:00 p.m.

 

Women’s Soccer begins the year a day earlier than the men’s, squaring off against Wheaton College on Friday, August 29. The Wheaton game marks a three-game home stand for the Hawks to open the season.

 

Women’s Tennis heads up to Babson College on Saturday, August 30 to start the 2008 season. The team will take on Regis College Tuesday September 9 in the TCCC opener, beginning the squad’s defense of back-to-back TCCC titles. Saturday, September 13 marks the Hawks’ home opener, hosting Western New England College in a conference matchup.

 

Volleyball takes part in the Regis College Invitational Friday, August 29 to begin the year. The team returns home the following Saturday, as the Hawks host the Roger Williams University Invitational featuring Rivier College, University of New England, and Amherst College.

 

Cross Country starts the 2008 season on Saturday, September 6, heading west to Connecticut to take part in the Trinity College Invitational. The Hawk runners host its first race of the year on October 11 with the Roger Williams University Invitational at Colt State Park.
