Women’s Cross Country gets 16th at UMass-Dartmouth

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Cross Country team finished in 16th place Saturday at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth Invitational, taking part in the largest race of the young season.

The Hawks were one of 37 teams at the meet, including one of four teams from the Commonwealth Coast Conference.

Finishing first for RWU was Alexandra Honkala (South Royalton, Vt.), placing 65th overall with a time of 20:16.84. Across the finish line next for the Hawks was Kristen St. Pierre (Dracut, Mass.) in 92nd place at 20:33.26.

Kaitlin Crowley (Beverly, Mass.) grabbed 98th place with a time of 20:37.19, followed by Meaghan Krasenics (Shelton, Conn.) in 100th at 20:38.67. Katie O'Koren (Franklin, Mass.) was the next Hawk to finish, coming in 130th place in 21:02.97. Lauren Ashby (Manchester, N.H.) finished right behind O'Koren in 131st place at 21:04.38.

The final runner for Roger Williams to place was Lauren Ricciardi in a time of 21:46.67, placing 172.

Coast Guard Academy won the meet with a score of 109. Brooke Johnson of MIT finished first overall with a time of 17:54.35.

Roger Williams next competes at the Pop Crowell Invitational next Saturday, hosted by Gordon College.
