Swimming and Diving Puts on Walking Shoes for Breast Cancer

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams participated in the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk” in Providence on Sunday morning at the Roger Williams Park.  The event was put on by the American Cancer Society and was a 3.2 mile walk from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.  This was just one of 21 events like it held this month in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The Swimming and Diving team was out in full force as part of the 12,000 that came out to support the search for a cure.  The event was able to raise an astounding $900,000 dollars which will be donated to the fight against the deadly disease.

The Swimming and Diving team was happy to help out in the fight anyway they could and showed their support by participating in the event.  The team looks forward to the future and other ways that they can help support the fight against breast cancer.
