The Roger Williams University Club Ice Hockey team completed its second season with a 9-8-3 record. Accepted into the Northeast Collegiate Hockey Association (NECHA) after the 2009-10 season, RWU competed in the Colonial Conference and earned a playoff berth in its first year as a member. RWU is also a member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) which is the national organization for collegiate club hockey. The ACHA has over 190 teams at the Men's Division II level and all games are played in accordance with NCAA rules and are officiated by NCAA referees. The level of play is extremely competitive. The 2010-11 schedule included 20 games and included games against RPI, WPI, Rider University, Bridgewater State University and Rhode Island College. For season results, see the Schedule link.
Roger Williams University club hockey gives students the opportunity to play ice hockey at the collegiate level. Tryouts are held at the beginning of the fall semester and games begin in early October and run through February. Practices are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 4:00-5:00 pm and most games are played on Friday and Saturday. All players must contribute financially to play. The hockey fee for 2010-11 was $1600.
