BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Track and Field team has found four qualified women to lead the team in the upcoming 2010 season. With only one upperclassmen on the team last season, the team is returning a strong group of sophomores that expect to have a major impact. Sophomores Lauren Ashby (Manchester, N.H.), Kristen Metcalf (Londonderry, N.H.), Kaitlin Crowley (Beverly, Mass.), and Meghan Krauss (Holliston, Mass.) have been chosen to lead the team to victory in the 2010 season.
All of them were valuable members of the 2009 team, and Coach Livingston has high expectations for them in the upcoming campaign. Krauss is the schools current record holder in the 100 meter dash, and is a valuable member of several relay teams. Metcalf is also a record holder in three separate events, as well as being a two-sport athlete as a member of the Women's Soccer team as well. Both Crowley and Ashby bring expertise in the distance events, as they are two sport athletes as well coming from the ten-time defending TCCC Champion Women's Cross Country team.
All of these young stars will look to shatter more school records this season, and look to have a successful 2010 campaign that ends with a TCCC title.
