Women’s Cross Country named USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS, La.The Roger Williams University Women's Cross Country has been named a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team after compiling a cumulative 3.48 team GPA. For the Hawks, this is their sixth consecutive season achieving the honor.

 

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet. The team must also have a minimum 3.10 team cumulative grade point average.

 

Roger Williams enjoyed another successful season, winning The Commonwealth Coast Conference Meet for the tenth consecutive year. The victory was an all-around group effort as the Hawks captured the title by one point over Salve Regina University. Top finishers in the championship were senior Emily Tran (Sharon, Mass.) in third, Liliana Rutler (Wyckoff, N.J.) in fourth, sophomore Kaitlin Crowley (Beverly, Mass.) in seventh, and senior Susan Thaxter (Pepperell, Mass.) in tenth.

 

During the season the team won their own RWU Invitational, earned fourth at Westfield State College Invitational, sixth at Pop Crowley Invitational and 16th at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.
