NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Roger Williams University Men's Track & Field team took ninth place Saturday afternoon at the Coast Guard Spring Invitational.
Austin Bobrow (Rocky Hill, Conn.) and Evan Jones (Lexington, Mass.) had two of the top showings on the day for RWU, taking third and fourth, respectively, in the Triple Jump, going for distances of 12.93 meters and 12.76 meters.
Thomas Maybury (East Longmeadow, Mass.) finished fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:18.50. In the Long Jump, Jamie Goodwick (Windham, N.H.) took twelfth place with a distance of 5.90 meters, while Emil Pornelos (Hartford, Vt.) earned sixth in the Discus Throw, tossing for 38.82 meters.
Pornelos also took eighth in the Shot Put, checking in at 11.85 meters in the Shot Put, and ninth in the Javelin with 38.63 meters.
Zach Gillespie (New Preston, Conn.) finished eleventh in the 110-Meter Hurdles, clocking in at 17.93, while Eric Patnode (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and his time of 23.48 was good for fourteenth in the 200 Meter Dash.
Roger Williams heads to UMass-Dartmouth this Saturday for the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.
