Turenne earns NEILA All-New England honors

BRISTOL, R.I. – The New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced its Division III All New England Team including Roger Williams junior midfielder Jim Turenne (Bristol, R.I.). Turenne was one of just six midfielders named to the NEILA Second Team.

Turenne performed well for the Hawks throughout the season on both ends of the field. He ranked third on the Hawks with 14 assists and tied for fifth with 14 goals. His 28-point total ranked sixth on the team, and he gathered 47 ground balls in 17 games – good for a fifth-place ranking.

He helped the Hawks to a seven game winning streak, which they extended with a 12-11 victory over visiting Salve Regina in The Commonwealth Coast Conference Quarterfinals. The team concluded its season in the semifinals, falling in a tight 10-6 loss to the eventual champions.
