Welcome to our 2010-11 season of crew.  Believe it or not, this year is the 20th anniversary of the team putting its first boats in the water!  I think it will be a great year.  We have new captains: Brittney Campo, Georges Gautherin, and Ali Murphy.  They will be taking on more leadership duties this year as the team continues to grow. 

The number of incoming rowers with experience is increasing – I have had ten inquiries about the team so far!  Fall is our development season with efforts focusing on skills, endurance, and strength.  As competitions become more crowded, they frown on hot-seating crews among shells.  As a result, we may be rowing more 8's than normal in an effort to get our rowers water time.  Here is a very tentative schedule:

Textile, Oct. 3, Lowell Mass.

New Hampshire Championship, Oct. 16, Pembroke, N.H.

Charles, Oct. 23, Boston Mass. (we are in a lottery with results due in Sept)

Halloween Regatta, Oct. 31, Salem or Lawrence MA,

NECRL Championship, Nov. 6, TBA

This year we will increase our fundraising efforts.  As the season gets underway, I will let you know of our efforts in this area.  Fundraising goals range from uniform support to regatta food support to new equipment.  How it breaks out is still unknown.   A team our size should have 6 fours, but given our circumstances having 4 would be a big improvement.

We have our parents email list as well as a growing alumni base.  As always, if you know of others who might be interested in getting info on the team let me know.
