BRISTOL, R.I. - Roger Williams University is pleased to announce the hiring of Kevin Gould as our next men's
lacrosse coach. Gould comes to Bristol to replace Marty Kelly, who resigned in February.
A former member of the Boston Cannons, Gould will join Roger Williams after a three-year stint
as the assistant coach/offensive coordinator at Providence College, where he was also the 2021
and 2022 Big East Assistant Coach's Representative.
"We had a very deep applicant pool and Kevin stood out. His passion and desire to take Roger
Williams to the next level was evident in his interview," Director of Athletics,
Kiki Jacobs.
Gould, a Duxbury, Mass., native, played his collegiate lacrosse at Bentley University, where he
was named an All-American in 2010, and was drafted by the Boston Cannons out of college. At
Bentley, where he majored in business management, the two-time captain ranked fifth in
program history in assists and eighth in career points. Gould then played for the Cannons for
three years and helped lead the team to a Major League Lacrosse championship win in 2011.
Prior to Providence College, Gould served in a variety of coaching capacities at UMass Lowell,
Dartmouth College, and Bryant University. At UMass Lowell, Gould helped lead the team to its
first America East playoff appearance in the team's history. At Bryant, where Gould began his
collegiate coaching career, he helped the team reach No. 11 in national polls and oversaw the
team's first wins in the NCAA Tournament.
"I am truly humbled and grateful for the opportunity to become the next Head Men's Lacrosse
Coach at Roger Williams University. I would like to thank
Kiki Jacobs,
Mike Gallagher, and the
entire search committee for their belief in my vision. I look forward to embracing what Roger
Williams University stands for, engaging with our alumni, and developing life-long relationships
with our team members as we work to add even more success to the history of Roger Williams
lacrosse."
Gould will officially join RWU on Aug. 1.
