Sailing: Roger Williams Win First Open Team Race Title Since 2011

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the first time since 2011, Roger Williams took home the Open Team Race National title, after placing first at the ICSA Open Team Race National Championship hosted by MIT and Harvard.

The Hawks completed the regatta with an 18-4 record on the year, claiming their title by edging out hosts Harvard who finished with a record of 17.5-4. Aidan Hoogland, Carlos Bermudez de Castro and Kyle Pfrang skippered the Hawks with crew Michaela O'Donnell, Carly Kiss, and Claire Buckley.

The Hawks were second heading into the final day of competition with Harvard losing half a point due to boat damage. The regatta's scheduled final four was called off as the, multiple days of low wind forced the regatta to end after the Round of Eight, with Roger Williams holding the lead.

Yale placed third in the event, and Brown closed out in fourth as the Hawks took home their first title since 2011.
