SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – With the release of the 2010 Commonwealth Coast Conference Preseason Poll, the Roger Williams University Volleyball team, reigning champion in The Commonwealth Coast Conference, is selected to finish second in the league this upcoming year.
Endicott College, winners of three of the last four TCCC titles, received four of the nine first-place votes in the 2010 TCCC preseason poll and was chosen to recapture the championship. Roger Williams University, which also received four first-place votes, was narrowly picked to finish second, with 108 points to Endicott's 111. Western New England College, recipient of the three remaining first-place votes, and Colby-Sawyer College were picked to finish third and fourth, respectively.
Teams received 11 points for every first place vote received, 10 points for second-place votes, nine points for third-place votes, down to one point for a last-place vote. First-place votes are shown in parentheses.
Last season, Roger Williams claimed its first Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship since 1998 with strong run through the TCCC Tournament. Ending the regular season with a 7-3 record and entering the tournament as the fourth seed, the Hawks defeated top-seeded Endicott in the semifinals and second-seeded Western New England College for the team's first automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
