BRISTOL, R.I. – The RWU Women's volleyball team arrived on campus August 19th and endured a long, hard preseason, including many double and triple sessions, culminating in a day of fun, relaxation and team bonding on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
“This was the longest volleyball preseason we've had in years,” Head Coach Bret Stothart said. “The team worked extremely hard and deserved some time off to relax and have some fun together outside of the gym.”
The day included a full feast of food, including hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, salad, watermelon and oversized s'mores for dessert. A fun game of quads on the grass was sandwiched between lots of time soaking up the sun and relaxing in the pool.
The team will hit the court for the season opener Sept. 1, travelling to Eastern Connecticut State University. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
