Roger Williams University Athletics

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Athletics Department has named the Equestrian team’s #Kayla Waskiewicz# (Bristol, R.I.) as the Female athlete of the week for her performace at the Wesleyan University Show this past weekend.  The team finished 8^th overall, due in large part to Waskiewicz’s first and second place finishes in two different divisions.

The senior opened up her weekend with a second place finish in the Open Fences division.  She would then go on to beat out teammate #Shannon O’Keefe# (Glastonbury, Conn.) to get the win in the Open Flat Division.  Waskiewicz and teammate #A. Courtney Levitsky# (Phoenixville, Pa.) were the only two members of the team to earn first place finishes on the weekend, against competitors from nine other schools.

The Wesleyan University Show marked the end of the fall season for the Equestrian team.  Waskiewicz and her teammates will continue on in the spring when their season resumes.
