BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams University Men’s Basketball player #Gary Madison# (Waterbury, Conn.) has been named Roger Williams University’s Male Athlete of the Week for his performance during last weeks games.  Madison has led the Hawks to an undefeated 3-0 start, and is coming off an MVP performance from the weekend.

In the Hawks season opener last Sunday Madison led the team with 16 points, and had four rebounds as well.  After that the team opened up at home at the Courtyard by Marriot tournament.  In the first game Madison put up a game high 31 points, helping the team defeat Lesley University in a close game that came down to the final minute.  In the Championship game on Saturday the Hawks continued with their success in beating Trinity College and getting the first place trophy.  Madison recorded 18 points which led all scorers, and was named Tournament MVP for his efforts in both contests.

Madison and the rest of the Men’s Basketball team return to the court and look to improve on their 3-0 record on Tuesday evening at home for an 8 p.m. game against Connecticut College before the holiday break.
