BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams University freshman #Alexandria Lanieri# (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) of the Women’s Basketball Team was named the TCCC Rookie of the week as well as RWU Female athlete for her performance in the last three games.

Lanieri sat out the Hawks first game, but came back strong in their first victory as she recorded a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds to lead the team.  She continued to impress recording two more double-doubles in the Emmanuel College Tournament held in Boston, Mass.  Over three games she averaged 15.7 points, 11.7 rebounds, and three steals per game.  She has shot 50% from the field and 70% from the line in that time.  She was also named the TCCC Rookie of the Week for her efforts.

Look for Lanieri to continue to have a successful start to her collegiate career as she and the rest of the Women’s Basketball Team play host to conference rival Salve Regina on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m.
