BRISTOL RI—Roger Williams University Women’s Swimming and Diving Team member #Ashley Kichline# (Souderton, PA) was named RWU Female Athlete of the Week after breaking an astounding seven RWU Swimming records at the NEISDA Championships this past weekend. Kichline was a major contributor to the Women’s team’s 4^th place finish at the event.

In the 200-yd Backstroke, Kichline finished in 2:12.80, taking third in the meet and smashing the previous RWU record of 2:23.19. She finished fifth in the 100-yd Backstroke in a time of 1:02.44, which broke the previous record by over four seconds. For Kichline’s last single-race record, she took fourth in the 50-yd Backstroke with a time of 29.17.

Kichline also contributed to four relay records, including the 400-Medley Relay, the 200-Medley Relay, the 800-Free Relay, and the 400-Free Relay. Perhaps the most impressive was the 400-Medley Relay when Kichline and her teammates surpassed the previous record by over nine seconds.

The NEISDA Championships was the last meet of the season for Kichline and Women’s Swimming and Diving Teams. The Hawks finish with a record of 5-4 overall, while also securing their fifth-straight TCCC Invitational Championship.
