Junior Casey Anderson (Cohasset, Mass.) was named RWU Female Athlete of the Week after totaling 21 points and 13 rebounds in the women’s basketball team’s two games last week.

Thursday at Eastern Connecticut State University, Anderson was the lone Hawk to post double-digit points, shooting 4-11 from the field and 2-2 from the line. The 5-9 forward also pulled down two offensive and two defensive rebounds on the night.

Saturday against Mt. Holyoke College, Anderson was one rebound shy of her season’s second double-double, posting 11 points and nine rebounds in 34 minutes of play. She also added a steal and a blocked shot to help lead the Hawks to a 69-64 comeback victory over the Lyons.

Anderson and the team return to action Tuesday in the first half of a RWU double-header beginning at 6 p.m. They host Simmons College prior to an 8 p.m. men’s contest against Salve Regina University.
