BRISTOL, R.I.-Roger Williams sophomore swimmer Casey Meagher (Billerica, Mass.) was named RWU Female Athlete of the Week Monday after her strong performance over the weekend.

Hosting six schools in The Commonwealth Coast Conference Invitational, the Hawks took the title with Meagher gathering numerous individual points along the way. The 400-yd freestyle relay team cruised to a first-place finish with Meagher posting a strong third leg. The winning relay time of 4:05.43 was just over two seconds quicker than the second-place team.

Meagher also led the Hawks with a third-place finish in the 200-yd freestyle, finishing in 2:11.97. She also posted RWU’s top time in the 100-yd freestyle, posting a time of 1:00.78 – good for a fourth-place finish.

Meagher and the team take a break for the holidays before returning to the pool Jan. 8 in a dual meet at Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire.
