BRISTOL, R.I. – RWU freshman Krystie Luczynski (Kensington, Conn.) of the Women’s Volleyball team was named RWU Female Athlete of the Week for her excellent performance against Coast Guard Academy in the NCAA Tournament held in New York City. Luczynski led all players in the match with a career-high 18 kills on 36 swings. With only three errors, she posted a .417 hitting percentage against a strong Coast Guard defense that allowed only one other Hawk to post a positive number (.077). Luczynski finished the season with 255 total kills, ranking third on the team, while also posting a second-best .316 hitting percentage which ranks fourth all-time. She also finished second on the team with 63 cumulative solo blocks and block assists. The Hawks finish their season with an RWU record .829 winning percentage after posting 29 wins in 35 matches.
