BRISTOL, R.I.- Roger Williams junior guard Jackie Criss has been named Roger Williams Female Athlete of the Week for her strong performance in helping the Hawks to their first conference win.

Criss went 8-14 with 20 points against Wentworth Institute of Technology. She was 4-6 from three point range and had four rebounds. For the second game in a row, she led the team in assists with seven. Criss also had two steals in the team’s first conference win of the season over Wentworth, 64-49.

In the second game of the week, she scored 13 points in 5-8 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds versus UMass Dartmouth. Criss also had three steals with a team-high nine assists that helped the Hawks to a thrilling 61-60 win.

Against Western New England, in a valiant effort, Criss tallied six points and five rebounds despite a 53-38 loss.

Coach Hathaway-James said “Jackie’s versatility as a point guard and off guard has helped her perform well on the court”. Criss’ versatility has propelled her in averaging 13 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.6 assists the past week. Her ability to read situations well make her the team’s assist leader with 48 on the year.

The Hawks go for their third straight win against Gordon College in a home contest Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
