BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams University sophomore Ashley Kichline (Souderton, Pa.) earned RWU Female Athlete of the Week after recording a first-place finish Saturday in two of her four events - both the 50- and 100-yard Backstroke - against a strong Trinity team.

Kichline also helped the Hawks to a second-place finish in the day’s opening event – the 200-yard Medley Relay. Kichline and her team finished at 1:57.95, just 0.62 behind the winners. Her team also placed second in the women’s final event, the 400-yard Freestyle Relay, just 0.58 shy of first place.

In the 50-yard Backstroke she took first place with a time of 29.94. This was just 0.77 shy of her RWU record time of 29.17. She also recorded a first-place finish in the 100-yard Backstroke with a time of 1:04.14.

Kichline will return the pool Feb. 18-20 when the Hawks compete in the New England Championships in White River Junction, Vt.
