BRISTOL, R.I. – RWU senior wrestler Nick Cambi (Cohasset, Mass.) was named RWU Male Athlete of the Week Monday after posting a perfect 3-0 record last week, including his 100th career victory.

Cambi began the week Wednesday in the team’s Pilgrim League contest against Bridgewater State University. The heavyweight was one of just two Hawks to earn points for RWU that night, securing a 10-0 major decision over junior Sam Fritz (Burlington, Mass.). The win marked Cambi’s 100th of his career.

Cambi extended his current win streak to 15 with two more wins on Saturday, as he needed just 1:06 to pin his University of Southern Maine opponent before posting a 3-1 decision over his Rhode Island College opponent.

Cambi currently ranks 8th in the nation among Division III heavyweights and looks to extend his win streak Wednesday when RWU hosts WPI in the Recreation Center gymnasium beginning at 7 p.m.
