BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams University Equestrian team member Shannon O’Keefe (Glastonbury, Conn.) was named RWU Female Athlete of the Week after a first-place finish in Open Fences helped her qualify for the Regional Finals while leading the Hawks to a second-place finish at the Zone 1 Opening Show last week.

O’Keefe was one of five Hawks to take first place in her respective event, as she led all riders in Open Fences. She also recorded a third-place finish in Open Flats. Her strong performance helped to qualify her for the Regional Finals, scheduled for March 26^th at the Mystic Valley Hunt Club in Mystic, Conn.

This marks the third-straight show the Hawks have earned the reserve high point award. O’Keefe and the team return to action March 12^th at the Johnson & Wales University Show at the JWU Equine Center in Rehoboth, Mass., beginning at 9 a.m.
