BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams University Equestrian team member Shannon O’Keefe (Glastonbury, Conn.) was named RWU Female Athlete of the Week after a first-place finish in Open Fences helped her qualify for the Regional Finals while leading the Hawks to a second-place finish at the Zone 1 Opening Show last week.

O’Keefe was one of five Hawks to take first place in her respective event, as she led all riders in Open Fences. She also recorded a third-place finish in Open Flats. Her strong performance helped to qualify her for the Regional Finals, scheduled for March 26th at the Mystic Valley Hunt Club in Mystic, Conn.

This marks the third-straight show the Hawks have earned the reserve high point award. O’Keefe and the team return to action March 12th at the Johnson & Wales University Show at the JWU Equine Center in Rehoboth, Mass., beginning at 9 a.m.
