BRISTOL, R.I. – Sophomore Liliana Rutler (Wyckoff, N.J.) was named Roger Williams University Female Athlete of the Week after qualifying for the New England Championships Saturday with her standout performance in the Track and Field team’s season opener.

Battling cold and windy weather at the Husky Spring Open, hosted by Northeastern University, Rutler registered a time of 40:51 in the 10K to place among the top-10 of all competitors. The time qualifies her to compete in May’s N.E. Championships for her second-straight season.

Rutler and the team return to action Saturday at the Jerry Gravel Classic hosted by Westfield State College in Westfield, Mass.
