Roger Williams University sophomore middle hitter Krystie Luczynski has been selected as RWU Female Athlete of the Week. on October 18, 2011.

Luczynski averaged 4.8 kills, 1.6 digs, and 1.2 blocks per set and hit .615 in a pair of road league victories for the Hawks, which extended their win streak to 14 matches. Luczynski opened the week with seven kills and hit .875 in a 3-0 victory over Wentworth. In a four-set win over Endicott, she had 17 kills with no errors for a hitting percentage of .548. She also added six total blocks, including five solo blocks.

The Hawks, ranked fifth in New England by the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA), are 24-3 and 6-0 in the CCC.  The Hawks return to the court on Wednesday, October 26 at 7:00pm when they host Salve Regina in a battle between the two remaining unbeaten teams in CCC play.  As the final regular season home match, the Hawks will be recognizing the outstanding contributions of the team's three seniors prior to the start of the contest.
