BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams University Men's Basketball junior Mike Igoe (Lexington, Mass.) has been named the Roger Williams University Male Athlete of the Week for December 5, 2011.

During the week Igoe set a career high for points scored then more than doubled that record in his next outing.

Igoe helped the Hawks to a 73-49 win over Eastern Nazarene in the Hawks Commonwealth Coast Conference opener.  Igoe scored a career-high 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

In their second contest of the week, Igoe’s impressive contributions were not enough as the Hawks fell to Endicott by a score of 78-69.  Igoe was an efficient 9-of-13 from the floor and 8-of-10 at the charity stripe for a career-high 27 points. Igoe added seven boards as well.

Igoe and the rest of the Hawks Men’s Basketball team will host Coast Guard at 7:00pm on Thursday, December 8, 2011.
