BRISTOL, R.I. – Welch went 4-0 on the day to win the Scott Viera Invitational 184 lb. bracket.  Welch beat returning NEWA placer Nick Camera of Springfield in the Semi-Finals 7-1 and then beat Brandon Riggins of STCC 6-4 in SV1 to win the tournament.  Welch was the only Hawk to win his bracket at the tournament. Earlier this season Welch took 3rd at the RWU Invitational and 2nd at the Doug Parker Invitational.  Welch was also selected as Rookie Wrestler of the Week by the New England Wrestling Association.
