BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams University freshman second baseman Veronica Alicea (Trumbull, Conn.) has been selected as the RWU Female Athlete of the Week and the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of The Week.

Alicea batted a .524 aiding the Hawks with 4 wins and 2 losses in the week, including a 3-1 record against CCC opponents. Within the conference, Alicea recorded a .571 batting average (8 for 14) and an on-base percentage of .600. Against in-conference opponent UNE, Alicea posted a career-high four hits, adding 3 RBIs in the Hawk's 6-2 victory. On the week, Alicea totaled 7 RBIs, three scoring runs, one stolen base, and was perfect from the plate.
