BRISTOL, R.I. – Junior wrestler Zackery Weinrich (Newton, N.J.) was named the Pilgrim League’s Wrestler of the Week and RWU Male Athlete of the Week after his outstanding performance at the 26th Annual Bomber Invitational at Ithaca College last weekend.

 

Weinrich posted a perfect 5-0 record over the two-day tournament, winning the heavyweight division with a 6-1 decision over Ithaca’s Dave Sbriscia. He helped to Hawks set a new record of six place finishers in the event, tying a team record with a fifth-place finish overall.

 

Weinrich and the Hawks return to action this Saturday at the Roger Williams University Invitational. Competition begins in the Recreation Center Fieldhouse at 10 a.m.
