Anthony Ruocco

Dr. Anthony S. Ruocco is a tenured Professor within the School of Engineering, Computing and Construction Management and he feels that being involved with a club team enhances a student’s academic performance.

Dr. Ruocco began coaching the RWU Crew in the Fall of 2009.  Prior to RWU he was the Officer-in-Charge of the United States Military Academy Crew from 1997-2001 where he was also the Assistant Coach for the Men’s and Women’s Varity Team’s. Besides fielding the most competitive RWU crews possible, the goal of the program is to develop the life skills in self-discipline, communication, teamwork, and physical fitness in RWU student-athletes.

Beyond coaching, he rows a fixed seat, 6-person open water boat called a pilot gig.  The group rows year round out of Plymouth Harbor.  He also has experience rowing overseas on the Isle of Scilly, (UK), Dublin Ireland, as well as a 20-mile race in the Thames River in London, England.Â
