Box Score
BRISTOL, R.I. – A pair of quick goals gave the Roger Williams University Women's Soccer team an early lead, pushing the Hawks to the eventual 3-0 win over Anna Maria College Wednesday afternoon.

The opening goal came off of the foot of Lauren Ferri (Northport, N.Y.) in the 36th minute, taking advantage of a goalie rebound for her third goal of the year. The Hawks wasted no time putting across another score on the board. Carey Baldwin (West Hartford, Conn.) notched her sixth goal of 2007 only 25 seconds after Ferri to quickly put the Hawks up by two. Ferri added to the Hawk lead in the 43rd minute, knocking a shot into the right side for her second goal of the game.

Jenny Schermerhorn (Sherborn, Mass.) and Jen Garside (Londonderry, N.H.) played the first and second half of the game, respectively. Neither player needed to make a save, as the Hawk defense held the AmCats to only one shot in the game.

Kelly Capek (Englewood, Col.) and Amanda Bickford (Danvers, Mass.) each had an assist on Ferri's goals, with Bickford on Ferri's first score and Capek on the second.

Despite the 3-0 score, Anna Maria's Karine Almeida (Brockton, Mass.) played fairly well in goal, making six saves in the game, including a couple of athletic stops that prevented sure goals.

Roger Williams (11-3-0, 9-3-0 TCCC) will play its third game in six days Saturday at 12:30 p.m., when the Hawks take on Gordon College.
