Box Score 3 PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Roger Williams University Women's Volleyball team finished with one win and two losses at the Rhode Island Championship tournament hosted by Johnson & Wales University. The Hawks earned the win 3-1 against Salve Regina, while falling to both Johnson & Wales and Rhode Island College 3-0. The Hawks' record now stands at 14-10 (4-3 TCCC).
Game scores for the non-conference match against Salve Regina were 31-29, 30-25, 25-30, and 30-25. Against Johnson & Wales, the Hawks were defeated 28-30, 21-30, and 25-30. The scores against the Rhode Island College Anchorwomen were 23-30, 20-30, and 25-30.
Senior Amy Maurer (Madbury, N.H.) led the Hawks with 28 kills in the ten games combined. Sophomore Caryn Lecca (Ludlow, Mass.) led her teammates with 51 assists in seven games of play. Teammates Brittney Sullivan (Nashua, N.H.) and Laura Scott (Chelmsford, Mass.) each had five service aces.
Freshman Eileen O'Leary (Southington, Conn.) contributed 34 digs for the ten games, and teammate Rebekah Dion (Old Saybrook, Conn.) had five blocks.
The Hawks are back in conference play this Tuesday, October 16, as they host the Pride of Regis College at 7:00 p.m.
