Women's Tennis advances in opening round of TCCC Tournament

BRISTOL, R.I. – In the quarterfinals of The Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament, the Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team won its 12th match in a row, advancing to the semifinals via the 8-1 win over Regis College Tuesday afternoon.
 
Leah Ribchinsky (Ivoryton, Conn.) earned her seventh singles win of the year with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Lauren Maloney (Feeding Hills, Mass.).
 
Haley McCraven (Ipswich, Mass.) and Joanna Nettelfield (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) each extended their singles win streaks to 12 and 11 matches, respectively. McCraven came away with the straight set victory over Courtney Sullivan (Dover, N.H.), going 6-0, 6-0, while Nettelfield only dropped one set to Kara Richardson (Pomfret, Conn.) en route to the 6-1, 6-0 win.
 
Roger Williams (12-1, 10-0 TCCC) will advance to the semifinals of the CCC Tournament, where the Hawks will face Salve Regina University, who defeated Western New England College 5-4 earlier in the day. RWU will host the match Wednesday, October 24 at 2:00 p.m.
