Volleyball picks up conference win over Regis

BRISTOL, R.I.-  The Roger Williams Hawks can add another victory to their conference record, as they earned a win at home against Regis College, 3-0.  The Hawks now stand at 15-10 (5-3 TCCC).    With the loss, Regis drops to 8-14, (1-5 TCCC). 

The Hawks came out on top, winning the first game by the score 30-21 and the second 30-17.  Yet the Pride would not go down easy, fighting point for point in the third game.  At the end of the game, the Hawks made a three-point rally to win 30-28.

On offense, sophomore Kristina Dolan (Glenmont, N.Y.) led her team with 11 kills.  She had one error on 15 attempts for a .667 hitting percentage.  Junior Kirsten Bosworth (Centerville, Mass.) was the Hawks' leader in both assists (28) and service aces (6).  Freshman Leah Quast (Edgewood, Ky.) contributed a team-high ten digs.

Coming into the match, Roger Williams stood at fifth in the conference standings.  With two conference matches left to go, against tough competitors Endicott and the University of New England, the Hawks are fighting to earn the home advantage heading into postseason play by finishing fourth or better in the standings.

The Hawks will be back in action this Thursday, traveling to UMass-Boston for a 6:00 p.m. non-conference contest.
