Men's Soccer mounts late comeback for win

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Three goals in the final 12 minutes of the game helped the Roger Williams University Men's Soccer team come away with the 3-2 win over Connecticut College Tuesday afternoon.

The Camels held a 2-0 lead going into the final 15 minutes of the game, after goals by Dane Bjorklund (Madison, Wis.) and Trevor Prophet (Nashua, N.H.) in the 31st and 72nd minutes, respectively. The Hawks looked to be on their way to a loss in their final game of the regular season when Antoine Bell (Bordeaux, France) headed in a Kevin Canty (Proctor, Vt.) serve to get RWU on the board in the 78th minute.

In the 81st minute, Bell took advantage of a penalty kick to knot the game at two for the Hawks. The rally would not be complete until Evan Solis (Seymour, Conn.) chipped in a ball from Brandon O'Donovan (Coram, N.Y.) in the 86th minute to give RWU the lead. Solis' first goal of the year ended up as the game-winner.

Dan Ruscigno (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.), making his first start since October 6, picked up his fifth win of the season, making four saves on the day.

Roger Williams (10-6-2), who currently holds the top seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference, will host the TCCC Quarterfinals Saturday afternoon. The Hawks' opponent has not been determined as of yet.
