Women's Soccer bounces back

QUINCY, Mass. – After a close loss on Saturday,The Roger Williams University Women's Soccer got back on track with a 2-0 win over Eastern Nazarene College Thursday afternoon.
 
The game-winning goal came halfway through the first period, when Amanda daCunha (Wethersfield, Conn.) notched her fifth goal of the year off of a penalty kick into the lower left corner of the net in the 23rd minute.
 
Carey Baldwin (West Hartford, Conn.) also scored her fifth goal of the year, putting in a shot from the top of the box just under the crossbar. Baldwin now has scored two goals in her last three games.
 
Jen Garside (Londonderry, N.H.) earned the shutout without having to make a save, mostly in part to the defense holding the Crusaders to two shots in the game.
 
Danielle Roers (Attica, N.Y.) had both shots in the game for Eastern Nazarene, while keeper Linda Akeju (Pennsville, N.J.) made nine saves for the Crusaders.
 
Roger Williams (8-3-0, 6-2-0 TCCC) next game is Saturday at the University of New Hampshire. Game time is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
