WENHAM, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team wrapped up its Commonwealth Coast Conference schedule with an 8-1 win over Gordon College Saturday afternoon.
Amanda Wolfe (Mansfield, Mass.) earned two wins on the day with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Maggie Baldridge in #3 singles. Against Laura Baldwin and Lauren Stone, Wolfe and Caroline McGrath (Carmel, N.Y.) picked up an 8-3 win in #3 doubles.
Katelin Richard (West Islip, N.Y.) also earned two wins, defeating Heather Vicary 6-0, 6-1 in #5 singles. She teamed up with Leah Ribchinsky (Ivoryton, Conn.) for the 8-0 win in #2 doubles over Vicary and Rebekah Gibbons.
Lily Osowski (Byfield, Mass.) won her #2 singles match against Andrea Metayer 6-1, 6-0, while Caitlin Osepchuck (Ocean Gate, N.J.) defeated Jessic Greewood 6-1, 6-0 in #4 singles. Jill Mackey (Reading, Conn.) also won her lone match of the day, a 6-2, 6-1 win over Gibbons in #6 singles.
Baldridge and Kristin Bollier had the single win for the Fighting Scots in #1 doubles, beating Osowski and Osepchuk by an 8-6 score.
Roger Williams (6-6, 6-4 TCCC) earns fifth seed in The Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament and will take on #4-seed Nichols College Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
