BRISTOL, R.I. – Babson College earned its tenth win of the season Thursday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over the Roger Williams University Men's Soccer team.
Tim Winn (Sutton, Mass.) broke a 1-1 tie in the 74th minute when he headed in a throw in by Brendan McNamara (Exeter, N.H.) for the eventual game-winner for the Beavers.
The scoring began in the eighth minute of the game, as Roger Williams struck first off of a goal into the left corner off the foot of Archie Maoh (Monrovia, Liberia).
The one-goal lead for the Hawks would only last for two minutes after Harrison Heller (Fort Wayne, Ind.) knotted the game with a short chip off of Dan Fogarty's (Brookline, N.H.) free kick.
Peter Crowley (Lexington, Mass.) picked up the win, making three saves in 90 minutes of action to improve to 10-4-1.
Peter Plate (Commack, N.Y.) made six saves in the game over the first 45 minutes of the game. Alexander Johnson (Monrovia, Liberia), who subbed for Plate in the beginning of the second half, suffered his first loss of the season, allowing one goal on ten shots with two saves for the Hawks.
Roger Williams (7-4-2) returns to TCCC action Saturday when the Hawks host the University of New England at 12:30 p.m., while Babson (10-4-1) travels to NEWMAC opponent Springfield Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
