BABSON PARK, Mass. – Junior Ken Lin (Milton, Mass.) and first-year Taylor Dutton (Portland, Ore.) posted a thrilling comeback victory at third doubles to help propel the Babson College men's tennis team to a 6-3 win over visiting Roger Williams University in non-conference action at the Farwell Courts on Wednesday afternoon. With the victory, the Beavers completed the fall portion of their 2008-09 season with a record of 3-2, while the Hawks suffered their first loss of the year to fall to 1-1.

The two teams split the top two doubles contests, with Babson juniors Alex Kamergorodsky (Millis, Mass.) and Brian Lafayette (Burlington, Vt.) teaming up for an 8-3 win at one and Roger Williams sophomores Nicholas Hawvermale (Bethlehem, Conn.) and Dan Kleitz (Wethersfield, Conn.) joining forces for an 8-5 win at two. The Hawks then held a commanding 7-4 lead in the third doubles match, but Lin and Dutton came storming back to win five straight games for the 9-7 victory.

Armed with a one-point lead, Babson put the match away with straight-set wins in the bottom three singles slots. First-year Justin Albert (Newton, Mass.) capped off his stellar fall with a dominating 6-0, 6-1 performance at four, Lafayette added a 6-4, 6-0 win at five, and junior Edwin Lee (Mukilteo, Wash.) prevailed, 6-2, 6-4, at six. Sophomore Austin Conti (Murray Hill, N.J.) finished off the Beavers' victory with a comeback win at three, as he rallied from a set down to win in a third-set superbreaker 4-6, 7-6 (4), 1-0 (10-7).

Roger Williams received its final two points in the top two singles positions. Senior Brad Bolte (Augusta, N.J.) bounced back from an opening set tie-break loss to win in a superbreaker, 6-7 (1), 6-1, 1-0 (10-8), at one, and first-year Ryang Kim (Port Washington, N.Y.) added a 6-2, 6-3 victory at two.
