GALES FERRY, Conn. - The Roger Williams University Equestrian team took fourth place for the second-straight show, this time at the Connecticut College Show Saturday afternoon.
Roger Williams ended up with a total of 27 points, tying them with the University of Connecticut. Brown University won the show after totaling 40 points.
The Hawks got first place finishes from Shannon O'Keefe (Glastonburt, Conn.) in the Open Flat, Megan Schiel-Logvin (Trumbull, Conn.) and Abby Hanc (South Hadley, Mass.) in Advanced Walk Trot Canter. Also tallying wins were Miranda Downing (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) in Walk Trot and Amelia Stasny (Bernardston, Mass.) in Intermediate Fences.
Alicia Levy (Wantagh, N.Y.) had the lone runner-up finish for the Hawks, placing second in both Novice Flat and Novice Fences.
In addition, the Hawks picked up third-place finishes from #Olivia Cornell# (Rowley, Mass.) in Novice Flat and Sarah Cholewa (Griswold, Conn.) in Beginner Walk Trot Canter.
RWU also took fourth in three events, namely Ashley Gagnon (Lunenberg, Mass.) in Intermediate Flat, Ashley Washington (Plymouth, Mass.) in Advanced Walk Trot Canter, and Becky Bryant (West Boylston, Mass.) in Walk Trot.
The Hawks return to action on Saturday, as they will travel to Storrs, Connecticut for the University of Connecticut Show scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
