Men's Basketball shines on Senior Night

Box Score
BRISTOL, R.I. – A strong performance by the Roger Williams University Men's Basketball team helped push the Hawks to a win in its final home game of the regular season, with an 82-55 victory over Anna Maria College Tuesday evening.

The Hawks were led by their three senior co-captains, Ben Camobreco (Duxbury, Mass.), Dan Gumb (Patterson, N.Y.), and Geoff Baranger (Fairfield, Conn.), who scored 14, 14, and 11, respectively. Gumb also grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds for a double-double, while Camobreco's four three-pointers give him 19 over the past four game and Baranger finished with a game-high five steals.

RWU held a slim 15-10 lead with 11:59 to play in the first half when the Hawks ran off three consecutive buckets from downtown in under two minutes to make it a 24-10 game. That nine-point swing gave RWU a significant swing in momentum, as the AmCats were unable to cut into the double-digit deficit from that point forward.

Anna Maria's Junior DeLaHoz (Lawrence, Mass.) poured in a team-high 13 on a series of deep three-pointers and slashing cuts to the basket, but the team's 33% field goal percentage in the first half put the AmCats in a 24-point hole that they could not climb out.

Tucker Bashaw (Williston, Vt.) scored a game-high 16 points with three assists. Corey Fava (Aliso Viero, Calif.) chipped in with two points while tying a season-high with six assists.

Anna Maria's Adam Garabedian (Pepperell, Mass.) finished with nine points on 4-of-4 shooting, with teammate Henry Rose (Coventry, R.I.) scoring eight.

Roger Williams (13-9, 9-1 TCCC) takes its fourth straight win and first-place conference standing to Regis College for a 3:00 p.m. matchup on Saturday. Anna Maria (8-14, 2-7 TCCC) will play the University of New England Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
