QUINCY, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Basketball finishes the regular season on a winning note with an 83-51 victory over Eastern Nazarene College Saturday afternoon.
 
With the score tied at six in the opening three minutes, the Hawks streaked out to an 11-2 run to take a nine-point lead. The Crusaders responded with five straight points to close the gap within four, but a three-pointer by Courtney Kovalsky (Hudson, Ohio) and a three-point play by Taylor Shea (Salem, Mass.) stretched the Hawk lead to double digits with 10:25 remaining in the first half. 
 
From that point forward, RWU maintained its double-digit advantage over Eastern Nazarene, closing the second half leading by 22.
 
All Hawk players that received playing time scored, including Casey Anderson (Cohasset, Mass.), who recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Jackie Criss (Westwood, Mass.) added 11 points and four rebounds while Carly Spagnola (Millbrook, N.Y.) handed out seven assists with three steals.
 
Eastern Nazarene's Amber Burns (Fall River, Mass.) finished with a double-double of her own, scoring 16 with 11 rebounds off the bench. Christina Winchester (West Haven, Conn.) had a game-high 18 points with Jessica Schoppee (Scarborough, Maine) adding 13 points and nine rebounds.
 
Roger Williams (12-13, 7-6 TCCC) will head to Endicott College Tuesday for the first round of The Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament. Game time begins at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Nazarene finishes the regular season with a record of 5-20 and 1-12 in the TCCC.
