Box Score BEVERLY, Mass.- The Roger Williams Women's Basketball team ended their season tonight with a loss in The Commonwealth Coast Conference quarterfinals to top-seeded Endicott College, 67-46.
The Hawks struggled offensively in the first half, as they shot just 24% from the field. After a 10-10 tie with 9:46 remaining, the Gulls went on a 15-2 run to put the score at 25-12. The Gulls made the most of the Hawks' 13 turnovers in the half, as the period ended with the Gulls up by 16, 33-17.
While the Hawks improved their shooting accuracy to 37 percent in the second half, Endicott opened the period with a 9-3 run, and would build a lead as large as 31 points. The Hawks were only able to close the gap to 21, as the game ended in favor of the Gulls, 67-46.
The Gulls benefited from their 28 free throw attempts compared the Hawks' 11, as well as the team's 15 steals and five blocks.
The Hawks were led offensively by senior Caitlyn Leone (Irvington, N.Y.), who had 12 points on the night. Junior Casey Anderson (Cohasset, Mass.) led on defense with nine rebounds, while junior Jackie Criss (Westwood, Mass.) had eight points and five boards.
The Gulls had three players reach double figures, as Nicole Duchesne (Plaistow, N.H.), Jenna Cosgrove (Sharon, Mass.) and Ashley Wright (Merrimack, N.H.) each had 10 points.
Roger Williams finishes the season with a 12-14 record. Endicott will advance to the conference semifinals to face #4 seed Colby-Sawyer College at home on Thursday.
