Men's tennis edges Endicott 5-4

BEVERLY, Mass.- The Roger Williams men's tennis team earned another key conference victory on Sunday, as they defeated Endicott College by the score of 5-4.  The Hawks were down after doubles , taking one of three flights, but had the upper hand in singles, taking four of six flights to hold the edge over the Gulls and seal the win.

At doubles, sophomore Kyle Baker (Bolton, Conn.) and freshman Dan Kleitz (Wethersfield, Conn.) teamed together for a win at No. 2, defeating Gabriel Moraga and Devon Locke 8-3.  Both partners went on to earn a win at singles as well, as Baker defeated Locke in a hard-fought 6-1, 5-6, 6-4 decision at No. 3, while Kleitz had the advantage over Scott Teller, winning 6-3, 6-2.

The Hawks' fifth point was at No. 1 singles, as senior Brad Bolte (Augusta, N.J.) held on to defeat Dan Murray 6-4, 7-5. 

With the win, Roger Williams' record improves to 9-7, and 5-2 in conference play.  The Gulls drop to 10-4 (5-2 TCCC).  Endicott and Roger Williams are now tied for third place in the conference standings.

With two regular season matches left on their schedule, the Hawks face conference opponent Eastern Nazarene at 3:30 p.m. on the road Tuesday, while Nichols College will travel to Bristol for a 4:00 p.m. match on Thursday.
