Hawks 2-1 at NEWA-Metro Conference Challenge Duals

BRISTOL, R.I. – The RWU Wrestling team posted a strong 2-1 showing at the NEWA-Metro Conference Challenge Duals in Williamstown, Mass., defeating both Hunter College and NYU while falling to No. 11 The College of New Jersey. This marks the first time in seven years the Hawks have gone 2-1 in the event and the first time in eight years since defeating NYU.

 

RWU freshmen performed well as Philip Ernst (Succasunna, N.J.), Kaare Stokdal (Olive Bridge, N.Y.) and Jack DiBurro (Haverhill, Mass.) all posted 2-0 records. Senior Chris Nadeau (Granby, Conn.) also posted two wins on the day.

 

The two wins improve RWU's record to 12-6 overall this season. Next Sunday the Hawks return to Pilgrim League action, where they are 2-1, as they travel to Portland, Maine to face Rhode Island College at 11 a.m. and the University of Southern Maine at 2 p.m.
