BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team blanked host Bridgewater State University, 9-0, on Friday afternoon at the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts in Bridgewater.
The visiting Hawks swept their way to three doubles victories and six singles win to improve to 6-3 on the season. Bridgewater drops to 6-1 as the Bears suffered their first loss of the season.
Junior Tracy Klein (New City, N.Y.) paced the Hawks as she posted a 6-3, 6-1 straight set victory at number one singles and teamed with sophomore Samantha Curran (Cumberland, R.I.) for an 8-0 win at first doubles.
Bridgewater will host UMass-Boston tomorrow at noon in a Little East Conference match. Roger Williams entertains Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Gordon College on Saturday at one.
