BRISTOL, R.I. – Endicott College remained undefeated on the year with a 6-3 win over the Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team Tuesday afternoon. The win moves Endicott to 4-0 (3-0 CCC) while Roger Williams drops to 2-2 (1-1 CCC).
The Gulls would take two of the three matches at doubles, followed by four wins at singles play. Emilie Cloudier (Lewiston, Maine) and Amy Heacox (Marion, Mass.) played a role in three of the five wins Endicott. The two paired up at #3 doubles to defeat Kristin Dono (West Boylston, Mass.) and Olivia Hilton (Vernon, Conn.) 8-1. Cloudier would then win 6-4, 6-2 over Samantha Curran (Barrington, R.I.) at #2 singles, with Heacox beating Amanda Wolfe 7-6 (5-3), 6-3 at #3.
For the Hawks, Curran and Klein earned one of the Hawks' wins at #1 doubles, defeating Kate Cioffi (Essex, Vt.) and Emily Annis (Hampton, N.H.)9-8 (7-5). Hillary Dutton (Cheshire, Conn.) notched a 6-0, 6-1 win against Annis at #4 singles, and Libby Magner (Lakefield, Mass.) earned the third point for the Hawks, a 6-1, 6-4 victory at #6 over Emily Marcello (Greenwood, Ind.).
Roger Williams will be at Salve Regina on Friday for a 3:30 p.m. match, while Endicott travels to Gordon College Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
